ISABEL WILLIAMSON MUSIC
Isabel Williamson is a professional cellist, composer and multi-instrumentalist based near Manchester who specialises in applying her formidable skill and creativity across genres. Her powerful musical instincts, natural skill at communication and pure joy in music-making make her an asset to any live performance, and uniquely well placed to bridge the pop/classical worlds and bring artists' visions to life in the studio.
Since graduating from a Masters at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2017, she has enjoyed a varied career encompassing session work, composing, arranging, function gigs, orchestral playing and teaching. She has toured internationally with the folk-rock bands 'The Wishing Well' and 'BenBen' and is a permanent member of the alternative bands Bonfire Tide and Scatterchild. She also plays regular classical recitals with her duo partner of 10+ years, Jonathan Ellis. Her original music for cello and loops pedal is inspired by an eclectic mix of post-rock, ambient and folk music, fuelled by a musical imagination which needed to be freed from the limitations of four strings. She plays a 2008 Alan McGeoch cello and uses a David Gage 'The Realist' pickup.
"Izzy consistently brings new depth, melodies and imagination to any music she works on. The cello parts she has written for my project Scatterchild elevated the songs to a new level.

She's a joy to work with, constructive in her feedback and suggestions, and a highly skilled player who achieves recorded takes quickly and with passion.

She's a must if you want any kind of strings work be it live or recorded."
